Mermaid

Got commissioned by a regular at the Caribou I work to paint her a mermaid. :)

Coloring is based off of an albino paradise fish.

Returning to colored pencils was probably the best thing I could have done for myself over Christmas break. At the end of last quarter I could barely hold a pencil without chucking across the room in revulsion. Same thing goes for a Wacom pen.

Going back to the basics was a nice change of pace.

I'm so thankful for the new sketchbook and pencil set I got for Christmas. Thanks Mom & Dad! <3

Trying to push myself in directions I'm not quite comfortable with. It's all about growth right? Inspired by this.

Proof of Concept

This past quarter has been one of the most productive quarters I've ever had! I attended SIGGRAPH, I had my 9th level portfolio review, cut another demo reel, and was a part of two team projects which were both very successful.

Above is a clip from my favorite project, Cupcakes (working title). These past three months we've been hashing out story and character and we are finally ready to begin production. I can't wait!
